Mike Kuster released “She’s My Reason For Going Home” today!

The song continues the track by track release of songs that will form Mike’s album, “Fifty”. The album “celebrates my fifty years of kicking around dirt on this rock,” Mike shared.

“‘She’s My Reason For Going Home‘ comes from a very personal place,” Mike explained. “While my wife was in the hospital a few years ago, I was worried and scared, but also found that I was avoiding going home at the end of the day. When a friend asked why, I just replied that, ‘She’s my reason for going home. Without her there, it doesn’t feel like a home.’ My friend told me that sounded like a song. So, I wrote this song and it helped me through the ordeal.”

The song, written by Mike, was produced by Mike’s long-time collaborator and producer, Dr .Ford. The song features musicians who have become synonymous with Mike’s sound. Michael Cleveland, IBMA and Grammy winning bluegrass artist, plays fiddle. Chris Condon, a talented producer and musician with credits including Billy Ray Cyrus, Cody Johnson, Brent Cobb, and The Grand Ole Opry Band, plays guitars. Caleb Mundy, an attorney and talented bassist with credits including Ashley McBryde and just about every venue on Broadway in Nashville, plays bass.

Kiley Phillips, a super-talented vocalist with credits including Carrie Underwood, Smokey Robinson and Vince Gill, joins Mike vocals for “She’s My Reason For Going Home”, and another up-coming release.

Mike Kuster and his live backing band, The Catoctin Cowboys will be touring throughout the Mid-Atlantic region the rest of the summer and into the early fall. You can check out the schedule at https://mikekuster.net/tour.

Mike returns to the studio in Nashville in October. In November, Mike will attend The Josie Music Awards, where he is nominated for two awards; Male Country Artist of the Year and Country Song of the Year for his song, “Fifty”.
