Back in October, I went down to Nashville to record some new songs in the studio with Dr. Ford, Chris, and Caleb. The first of those songs, “Fifty”, was released for my fiftieth birthday in November. I’ve been really happy with the response to that song! It’s a lot of fun.

In a few weeks, I’ll be releasing the other song we recorded during that session. “Back In My Good Days” will drop to streaming services on January 10, 2025.

You’ll be able to pre-save / pre-order from your participating streaming service on January 1, 2025! Links will update at https://mikekuster.net/backinmygooddays/.

This song is certainly a different feel than “Fifty”. If you love sad country songs, this will be right up your alley. I wrote this after some health scares in my family and the loss of my mother-in-law, Margie. As you may expect, it deals with the loss of one’s partner, but it could be due to death, divorce, drugs, or whatever. I’m leaving that up to the individual to draw their own meaning.

Here’s a sample from “Back In My Good Days”:

This new song and a lot more is also available on my new Mike Kuster – The Mix Tape, which you can buy right now on my web site at https://mikekuster.net/product/mike-kuster-the-mix-tape/. Mike Kuster – The Mix Tape includes all of my studio work up until now, the raw live recordings of my “Honky Tonkin’ Good Time Show” with my backing band, The Catoctin Cowboys, acoustic recordings from my pandemic series, “The COVID Sessions”, videos and photos!

I hope y’all enjoy this new song! You’d be helping a lot if you’d pre-order it, buy it on my Mike Kuster – The Mix Tape, and share it with all of your friends and family! Your purchases help me keep making music. I’ll be heading back to Nashville soon to cut more songs!

Thanks for your feedback! I really appreciate your input! - Mike
